Argyll Jacket
£189.95The Argyll Jacket is another one of Scotland's most popular Highland Dress garments. It is classified as Semi-Dress, which makes it perfect for smart events that are not too Formal. Traditionally worn as Morning Dress, the Argyll Jacket has become a popular jacket worn at most events you can think of, from casual events to even formal events. Its smart looks ensure it does not look out of place at a formal gathering. The Argyll Jacket has even been adopted by the majority of Pipe bands across the globe as it is renowned for its smart but practical looks. The traditional Argyll jacket is made entirely from Barathea wool and generally has a single button to fasten. The epaulettes are usually flat, plain cloth and the sleeves are generally Gauntlet cuff. However many Argyll jackets now feature a crail cuff, which is a single button. Our Argyll Jacket can also be purchased with a 5 button waistcoat, which makes the outfit a bit more versatile. You can then either wear a plain coloured neck tie, a cravat, or even a bow tie if you wish, depending on the event. Our Stock jackets are all made individually from scratch by our Scottish Tailors. This process takes around 4 weeks to complete, so there is a waiting period involved. It is classified as Day Wear or Semi Dress, which makes it perfect for smart events that are not too Formal. The Tweed Argyll has become increasingly popular as a wedding wear jacket with many couples opting for coloured tweeds as opposed to the standard black barathea. TheTweed Argyll jacket is made entirely from tweed and generally has a single button to fasten. The epaulettes are usually flat, plain cloth and the sleeves are generally Gauntlet cuff. Regulation Doublet and Vest
£269.95The Regulation kilt doublet is a typically black double-breasted jacket with satin peaked lapels, buttoned cuffs, and epaulettes, similar to the Prince Charlie Jacket and vest. The Regulation Doublet pre-dates the Prince Charlie and is cut like a mess jacket. The doublet has Inverness skirts/flaps at the front and back. The Regulation doublet was at one time the regulation uniform jacket of the Highland regiments, and is worn with a three-button waistcoat made from the same cloth as the jacket. The Regulation Doublet is another one of Scotland's more traditional Highland Dress garments. It is not as popular as the Prince Charlie but is certainly still a common choice for many kilt wearers, especially those with regimental links.
